Just-world phenomenon
The tendency for people to believe the world is just and that people therefore get what they deserve and deserve what they get

In group bias The tendency to favor our own group in group- “us”
Outgroup- “them”

Ethnocentrism Judging other cultures based only on the values and characteristics of one’s own culture

Scapegoat theory Theory that prejudice offers an outlet for anger by providing someone to blame

Other-race effect The tendency to recall faces of one’s own race more accurately than faces of other races

Implicit attitude test
Not overt, but unconscious (hidden) or automatic biases Your willingness to examine your own possible biases is an important step in understanding the roots of stereotypes and prejudice in our society.
