Mission:
As you engage in UMKC’s General Education Program, you will build your communication and critical thinking skills, hone your creative abilities, and tackle challenging problems by exploring varied disciplines.
Vision:
The General Education Program will prepare you for the dynamic, diverse world that needs your contributions as both an informed citizen and in complex workplaces.
Objective:
Through the General Education Program, you will discover that learning stretches from your classroom to the labs, archives, and studios located on our campus, into the Kansas City community, across the nation, and around the globe.

3. Congratulations on Achieving a Milestone!
Communication UMKC students will plan, prepare, and present effective oral presentations and written texts, engage audiences using a variety of media, employ active listening techniques, and comprehend and analyze information transmitted orally and in writing. Quantitative Analysis UMKC students will produce, interpret, and present quantitative information. Culture and Diversity UMKC students will draw on a variety of disciplines to examine the factors defining cultural identities, to examine complexities of human cultures, past and present, and to come to an informed sense of self and others. Critical Thinking and Analytical Reasoning UMKC students will explore problems from multiple perspectives and draw upon evidence-based analyses to generate possible solutions. Social and Civic Responsibility/ Civic ad Urban Engagement Students will explore the role of socially responsible citizens and leaders in a democratic society and contribute towards the betterment of the community

Performance: A VERB that describes a BEHAVIOR that student must DO to demonstrate mastery of the main intent of the instructional objective. May be overt (observable) or covert (with an indicator behavior). Condition: A GIVEN, the parameters and constraints imposed on students when they are demonstrating mastery of the intended objective. Criteria: A STANDARD or MEASURE of how well a student must perform a behavior to be determined as successfully achieving mastery of the intended objective.
