Compartment 1 represents the precursor pool and compartment 2 represents the plasma albumin or fibrinogen pool. The k-value represents the rate constant. The equation used for calculation of FSR_day = k (2,1) × 24 × 100; 24 is the conversion of pools/hour to pools/day; 100 is the conversion of pools to %.
