Fitness Skills Target: I will be able to identify the skills needed to demonstrate high levels of good fitness Skill Related Fitness: The capacity to perform well in sports and physical activities. The skills you use in these sports/activities are called Fitness Skills Pg. 39

6 Fitness Skills 1. Agility- Ability to rapidly change the position of the body. Ex: Tennis 2. Balance- Ability to remain upright (to keep from falling) when sitting, standing, and when moving Ex: Skiing or Riding a Bicycle

3. Coordination- The ability to use body parts and senses together.
Ex 1: Hand-Eye Coordination- Hitting a Tennis Ball Ex 2: Foot-eye coordination- Playing Soccer 4. Speed- The ability to move quickly. Ex: Basketball

5. Reaction time- Rate of movement (the time it takes to move) once you hear, see, feel, or touch the stimulus. The less time that elapses, the quicker your reaction time. Ex: Running/Swimming a Race

6. Power- Using force (strength) combined with speed.

My Fitness Skills Using your entire page (you may choose to turn it sideways), choose a sport or activity and draw the ball or item of equipment related to that sport/activity. Then, draw pictures to represent each of the 6 components as they relate to the sport/activity of your choice. *Use a minimum of 4 colors* Pg. 38
