Facility level: Exemplary Professional Practice Councils (EPP)
Members include bedside clinicians as chairs and leadership mentors
ensures the adoption of evidence-based best practices to optimize patient, nursing and organizational outcomes
upholds the commitment to and implementation of the Professional Practice Model
cultivates a culture of safety that empowers nursing staff to take advantage of the opportunities and resources available to them
equips clinical nurses with a comprehensive understanding and utilization of professional role-based practice
System level: Practice Council (PC)
Members include: bedside clinicians as chairs, EPP Council Chairs, chairs of other system councils and leadership mentors
The purpose of the Practice Council is to provide a mechanism for UCLA Health Nurses to implement and maintain standards of clinical practice and patient care consistent with evidence-based practice and the requirements of regulatory agencies.
