1 Grace Fellowship Church www.GraceDoctrine.org
Pastor/Teacher Jim Rickard Sunday, March 22, 2009 Title Page Below are some simple instructions on how to use this template: 1. You can change the text in the graphical screen above or in the outline area to the left. 2. There is one default background that is indicated by “ ” .This slide acts as a space or a blank screen, use to clear or blank the screen. If you have a large graphic such as a map you could also use this screen. If you insert a new slide you will get this default background. 3. The first five slides have the other backgrounds for the set. To use more than one of these background types in your presentation highlight the one you wish to use and choose copy from the edit menu. Paste this slide where you want it to appear in your presentation, then change the text on this new slide. By copy/pasting the slide in this manor you will keep the background, text formatting and the customized animation from that slide. By using the copy/paste method you find it saves you time and keeps a consistent look through out your presentation. 4.There are a few additional notes written in the slide text wording that may be helpful. Note: We are working on a website that in the future will provide help topics on using sermon outlines in PowerPoint as well as provide sermon templates similar to this one. Check for more information.

2 1 John Series 1 John 5:9 Three Witnesses are the Witness of God.

3 The proof is in: 1) Our Lord is true humanity, 2) He completed the work on the Cross, and 3) The Common Grace ministry of God Holy Spirit reveals this to man.

4 Each testifies with irrefutable evidence, fashioning all who believe victorious. Their purpose is to validate the person and work of Jesus Christ.

5 1. The Prophetic Witness: The Water - His physical birth as prophesized in the O.T. Isa 7:14; 11:10; 53:1-12

6 2. The Historical Witness: The Blood of Christ, that links the Old Testament ritual of the Levitical offerings with their historical fulfillment on the Cross.

7 3. The Retrospective Witness: The Ministry of GtHS, in recalling everything pertinent for salvation in the writing of the New Testament.

If we accept man’s evidence “as truth”, (i.e. evolution, works for salvation, spiritism, Gnosticism, etc.) ...

9 … then God’s evidence blows it away
… then God’s evidence blows it away. It supercedes it 100 billion fold (MEGAS).

10 Any evidence that man portrays as the absolute truth, is completely obliterated by the simple facts and evidence given by God, as seen in our three perfect witnesses.

11 “He has borne witness ” MARTUREO The Perfect Indicative describes an event that completed in the past has results existing in the present time.

12 The Aoristic Perfect Tense is for completed action of the three witnesses of the prosecution, God, with emphasis on the prophetic, historical and retrospective reality of the evidence.

13 Isa 53:1-12 for one, foretold of the future historical reality of His Son, that was validated by the three witnesses.

14 God’s evidence adheres to his own just and righteous mandates.

15 One witness is not enough, two gets you by, but three seals the deal
One witness is not enough, two gets you by, but three seals the deal! Num 35:30; Deut 17:6; 19:15; Mat 18:16; Heb 10:28

16 Deut 19:15, “A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed.”

17 Mat 18:16, “But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.”

18 Deut 17:6, “On the evidence of two witnesses or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness.”

19 In relation to the believer, we have "died to sin", Rom
In relation to the believer, we have "died to sin", Rom. 6:2, 10, therefore, that death was just and righteous as a result of the testimony of God's three witnesses.

20 Rom 7:4, “Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law (sin) through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead (Jesus Christ), in order that we might bear fruit for God.” (Win tactical victories)

21 Rom 6:4, “Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism (indwelling of the Spirit) into death (i.e. we have died to sin), so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” (VICTORY!)

22 At the moment we personally receive the evidence presented by God's three witnesses as truth, we are condemned to death of the flesh, that is "we die to sin".

23 This death is necessary so that we can be given the new life in Christ, which is our eternal positional victory.

24 With death comes new life. With new life comes victory
With death comes new life. With new life comes victory. With victory comes more victory.
