Language Objective: Today we will be exploring the pelvic girdle and everything about it!
Content Objectives: Students will take notes and play a short game to understand the pelvic girdle.

3. What is the pelvic girdle?
The pelvic gridle is one bone made up of two hip bones.
There are three bones that form the pelvis: sacrum, coccyx, and pelvic girdle.
Each half of our hip bones consist of the ilium, ischium, and pubis bones.

4. Ilium
The largest and most upward portion of the hip bone is the ilium.
The sides of the ilium is called the iliac crest.
The sacroiliac joint is where the ilium joins the sacrum.

5. Ischium The ischium is the L-shaped lower portion of the hip bone.
Its round shape attaches ligaments to the lower limb muscles.
The ischial spine is the sharp bone above the ischial tuberosity.

6. The Pubis
The outer (anterior) portion of the hip bone would be the pubis.
There's two pubic bones that join to form the symphysis.
There's a large opening known as the obturator foramen which is in- between the hip bones.
