1 The Water Cycle

2 What are the parts of the Water Cycle?
Evaporation Condensation Precipitation Transpiration

3 EVAPORATION When the heat from the sun changes water on the surface of the Earth to water vapor, this process is called evaporation. A good example of evaporation is: when water is boiling in a pot, the steam that is released into the air becomes evaporation.

4 CONDENSATION As the water vapor changes back into a liquid state above the Earths surface, it becomes condensation. A good example of condensation is when the water boils and you put a lid over it. When you lift the lid, the tiny droplets of water that you see on the top of the lid have condensed into a liquid state of water.

5 PRECIPITATION Once the water vapor condenses, it falls back to Earth. Any form of water that falls from the clouds is known as precipitation. Once the water has boiled in the pot, and you lift the lid, the water that falls from the lid is in the form of precipitation.

6 TRANSPIRATION When plants and animals put water back into the environment, in any form, this is called transpiration. Plants put it back through their leaves and animals put it back through many ways. Boy am I hot!!

7 Why is the water cycle important to us?
Without water, the Earth would not be able to survive. Always try to conserve water and keep it safe for our environment. We also need to keep it free from litter and pollution. Let’s do our best to keep the water cycle in a constant spin.
