Turn to a partner and discuss: 1. “who are the 7 boys” 2. why are the boys worthy of rumors Evaluate the effectiveness of the following quote: “ Our innocence had been replaced by fear and we had become monsters”

5. Chapter 9
In chapter 9, Beah uses imagery to create mental pictures in the readers mind. Create a 5 column chart with the 5 senses as headings. (sight, smell, taste, touch, hear) Every time you come across imagery that would appeal to any of the 5 senses, reference the page number you found the imagery. Finish reading from page on your own.
