Canadian business patterns data provide counts of active establishments by industry classification and employment size categories. Welfare Incomes, 2016 This dataset lists welfare incomes for four different household types in each province: a single employable person, a single person with a disability, a lone parent with a 2-year-old child and a two-parent family with two children aged 10 and 15. 9 CDP Updates What is a Target Group Profile?
Target group profiles (TGP) provide Census Profile variables for a subset, or target group, of the population.  Outputs: Profiles focusing on a target groups (Immigrants, Seniors 65+, Children 0-6 year old, etc.) Comparisons among different population groups (e.g. demographics of employed and unemployed people, characteristics of different age groups of population, etc.) Community snapshots, infographics, etc. Simcoe County Data consortium

In 2009, the Ontario Office of Francophone Affairs introduced the Inclusive Definition of Francophone (IDF). 13 2016 Census Report: Income Household Income Individual Income
For the first time in 2016, the Census of Population Program gathered income information solely from administrative data sources. Household Income Individual Income By gender By income types Economic Family Income By family structures Low-income By age category Prevalence of Low-income This is the first time Statistics Canada has linked income data from the Canada Revenue Agency to all census respondents to allow for a very comprehensive estimate of income and low income. Reduces respondent burden at the time of data collection Increases the quality and quantity of income data available Less rounded values More detailed income variables - information for Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs) # of income recipients Median total (before-tax) income Median after-tax income Average income * Dollar amounts have been inflated where necessary to constant dollars using the consumer price index (CPI). * The income data used for the 2016 Census is based on income information collected in 2015. 14 2016 Census Report: Aboriginal Population
Total Aboriginal Population n = 21,955 Aboriginal Identity By age category Aboriginal Group Single and multiple responses Registered or Treaty Indian Status Aboriginal Ancestry Aboriginal population are young, but aging. (34.4 yr vs 41.7 yr) The term “Aboriginal” was used in the 2016 Census questionnaire to refer to First Nations people, Métis and Inuit living in Canada. This term is used throughout related census products. Statistics Canada is currently in the process of developing a consultation and testing strategy to determine the terminology that will be used when referring to these populations in the next census and in future surveys.
