1 Longitudinal follow up of more than 300 dialysis patients who had PWV measurements performed in aorta, brachial/radial, and femoral/tibial vascular beds. Longitudinal follow up of more than 300 dialysis patients who had PWV measurements performed in aorta, brachial/radial, and femoral/tibial vascular beds. Primary outcome was cardiovascular survival. Average follow-up was 70 mo. Patients were divided into tertiles by the velocities obtained in each bed. The aortic PWV tertiles had a very clear relationship to survival, whereas division of patients by brachial or femoral PWV tertiles was not significantly predictive of survival. This figure is adapted from reference (54). Stephanie S. DeLoach, and Raymond R. Townsend CJASN 2008;3: ©2008 by American Society of Nephrology
