1 Applications from Galatians
Liberty in Christ Applications from Galatians Steve Klein

2 Free from Prejudice Galatians 2:11-14; 3:28-29

3 Free from Prejudice The blood of Jesus paid the price for our freedom (1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 Timothy 2:6) The book of Galatians heralds this truth! “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law” (Galatians 3:13) “For freedom Christ has set us free” (Galatians 5:1) The gospel of Christ breaks down barriers of race, class, and gender and enables us to share freely in the fellowship and unity of the Spirit (Gal. 3:28-29).

4 Free from Prejudice Jesus broke through ethnic and gender barriers!
The “good Samaritan” (Luke 10:29-37) The ten lepers (Luke 17:11-19) The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4) Jesus died for all and wants the saving gospel to be shared with every nation and ethnicity (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48)

5 Peter’s Journey from Partiality
Peter had to be shown the meaning of the great commission (Acts 10). Peter declared: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him” (Acts 10:34-35). Later Peter relapses and shows prejudice against Gentile Christians (Galatians 2:11-16) He “feared” what others might think!

6 We are Freed from Partiality
Because the body of Christ is made up of many members (Galatians 3:27-29; Corinthians 12:12-13) In Christ, we do “nothing with partiality” (1 Timothy 5:21; James 2:1) Because we are commanded to honor all people (1 Thess. 5:15; 1 Peter 2:17) Because our goal is to share the gospel that saves souls (Titus 1:12; 1 Cor. 9:19-22; Ephesians 4:29)
