Immunostaining was done for telomere-protective protein TRF2 (green) and for the DNA damage response protein hRif1 (red). Note that not all telomeres (TRF2 spots) overlap with DNA damage foci, although each of the large DNA damage focal spots overlaps with one or more telomeres.
