4 We may say we’re sorry, but do we really mean it?

5 ESAU: ‘found no place of repentance,

6 SORRY! I wish this hadn’t happened (1) I can’t cope/put it right Help! (2) God did it/allowed it to happen (3) God seems far away (4) My hope is in Him! (6) This has driven me closer to Him (7) I’ve learnt from this (8) I won’t do it again! Thank you! (9) IS THIS REPENTANCE ?

Pain, faintness, anguish, weeping, anger at enemies, cry for mercy and safety IS THIS REPENTANCE? - or just regret …

8 “You are the man!” “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.” PSALM 51

13 REAL PRAYERS OF REPENTANCE say:
It’s God’s perfect love I’ve offended most of all I made a choice to do wrong Only He can forgive me and set me free, through the death of Jesus I will never do it again

14 “Jesus, they say you died on the cross for my forgiveness …
- but I couldn’t care less!”
