Knockdown of JunB phenocopies heart failure caused by CBFβ loss-of-function.
Knockdown of JunB phenocopies heart failure caused by CBFβ loss-of-function. (A,B) Lateral view and magnification of an MO-junb-injected embryo at 72 hpf. Similar to CBFβ morphants, JunB-morphant embryos develop pericardial edema and precardial blood congestion. v, ventricle; a, atrium; asterisk, pericardial edema. (C) Fractional shortening (FS) of the ventricular chambers of MO-control-in comparison with MO1-cbfβ- and MO-junb-injected embryos measured at indicated developmental stages. FS is severely reduced in CBFβ and JunB morphants in comparison with controls. (D) Bar graph indicating end-systolic ventricular diameters of MO-control- and MO-junb-injected embryos. As shown, MO-junb-injected embryos have significantly enlarged end-systolic ventricular diameters (60 hpf; *P<0.05). Benjamin Meder et al. J Cell Sci 2010;123: © 2010.
