About the PMS5003 (PM2.5/10) Digital and universal particle concentration sensor Can be used to obtain the number of suspended particles in the air (aka can measure air quality) Can provide data of concentration over time Data collection specification: Can collect particulate matter per 0.1L air, Gets categorized into 0.3um, 0.5um, 1.0um, 2.5um, 5.0um and 10um size bins

How it Works Scattering is produced by using laser scattering to radiate suspending particles in the air The scattered light is then collected at a certain degree Finally, data can be obtained of scattering light change with time Equivalent particle diameter and the number of particles with different diameter per unit volume can be calculated by microprocessor based on the Mie theory on light scattering Sensor Block Diagram

Air Quality Index Data measured from the particulate sensor can be compared with published AQI data by converting the concentrations given by the sensor to tabled values The following table shows the AQI value range along with the sensor ranges. The PM concentrations are 24 hour ranges.
