Conductivity of Ionic Liquids at the Nanoscale Zuzanna S
Conductivity of Ionic Liquids at the Nanoscale Zuzanna S. Siwy, University of California, Irvine Ion current rectification in single conical nanopores with a diameter less than 10 nm was observed with two ionic liquids. Single pore membrane (5, 27) (5, 390) (-5, -40) (-5, -580) [BMIM][CH3SO4] in 5 nm pore [EMIM][Tf2N] in 8 nm pore [BMIM][CH3SO4] [EMIM][Tf2N] Region with DNA containing high negative surface charge density Current-voltage curve through a conical pore with a junction between negative surface charges of carboxyls and a neutral zone. Diameter of this pore was 10 nm. Current-voltage curve through a conical pore with a junction between a zone with DNA and a zone with COOH groups. A zone with DNA contains a high surface charge density.
