Since its inception, the KGHPS has: Created an effective infrastructure comprised of a well represented Working Group and governance model Established a standardized FE funding application process Implemented a standardized process to evaluate proposals against criteria aligned with Doctors of BC and BC Health Quality Council Developed administrative guidelines to ensure consistency and transparency in the work they undertake Launched a communication strategy with quarterly KGHPS Newsletters, an e-bulletin board and a soon to go-live website Engaged members, sponsoring 22 Departmental / Divisional retreats YTD November 30th Reviewed 36 FE Proposals FE Projects – Quality Focus Approved FE Projects (examples) Quality Focus Standardization & Optimization of the Care Pathway for Patients with Venous Thromboembolism Developing Clinical Pathways for IBD and non-IBD Patients Spot Diagnosis of Random Urine Samples for Fentanyl Overdose Expanded Microbiology PCR Testing Transition of Diabetic Youth to Adult Services Work Environment Focus Physician Engagement Survey Physician Leadership Development Initiative. KGHPS Strategic Priorities Informed with input emerging from Departmental Retreats, the strategic goals of the KGHPS are to: Enhance & improve communication between physicians, departments and KGH Administration to increase physician engagement Increase meaningful engagement and influence on health care delivery within KGH Improve quality of care for patients, clients and families through ongoing continuous quality improvement With support from IH, use technology to explore opportunities to improve and enhance system performance Physician Engagement FE Projects – Work Environment Departmental Retreats Collaboration with Interior Health Authority KGH Leadership invited to monthly KGHPS Board meeting prior to launch of KGH Medical Executive committee KGHPS President, Vice-president & Executive Director attend the monthly KGH Medical Executive Committee The KGH Health Services Administrator & Chief of Staff receive notification on all approved FE projects with opportunity for input Enhanced Communication Quality Improvement Enhanced Work Environment
