An anti-BTC neutralizing antibody and a metalloproteinase inhibitor suppress GLP-1-induced DNA synthesis in INS(832/13) cells. Cells were cultured at 3 mmol/l glucose for 24 h in RPMI medium in the absence or presence of 10 nmol/l GLP-1 with or without an anti-BTC antibody (BTC-Ab) (0.25 μg/ml) or 2.5 μmol/l GM6001 (llomastat), a pan-specific metalloproteinase inhibitor.
