1 Wigston College Exam Season 2019

2 Wigston College Exam Preparation Time Y13 follow the normal timetable until the last exam in that subject. Y12 attend lessons as normal during exams season unless they have an exam. Y12 register but Y13 do not need to after the May holiday. When not registering, please sign in and out.

3 Wigston College Exam Preparation Time You are not expected in lessons when you have an exam, or the day before, or on the morning of an afternoon exam. Y12 will begin second year studies after the May holiday. Y13 - please make sure all resources/books are returned on the day of your last exam.

4 Exceptional Circumstances
Wigston College Exceptional Circumstances If you have extra time, make sure you know the timings of your exam. If you do your exams separate from most students, make sure you know where you are going – see the board in the Blue Room. If you have a clash, it should be identified already – but make sure you are clear on what the arrangements are (don’t be afraid to ask if you’re not clear). If you are ill on the day of the exam – phone in and let us know as soon as possible. You will also need a medical note from a medical centre if you want the exam board to take your illness into account. If there is any other emergency on the day of an exam, do phone in so we can discuss how we’re going to manage it. Be warned, there are not many acceptable reasons for missing an exam!

5 If the alarm bell sounds…
Wigston College If the alarm bell sounds… As always, don’t panic – but also remain completely silent. Listen carefully to the instructions of the invigilators who will organise your evacuation. You must remain silent when evacuating and continue to do so when outside. Do not attempt to communicate with each other – for whatever reason. Assuming the alarm is a false one, we will aim to get you seated and back in the exam as quickly as possible.

6 PPEs Treat them as a ‘real’ exam.
Wigston College PPEs Treat them as a ‘real’ exam. However – do not miss lessons to prepare for a PPE. If you miss a PPE, you will sit this exam at a later date. This includes missing a PPE to sit an actual AS level. There will be a PPE ‘Results Day’ next term. PPE results will inform predicted grades.

7 Wigston College Top 5 Things to Remember Make sure you know where you are sat in an exam – take the pressure of yourself. Bring all necessary equipment – including a spare pen. Be punctual – but don’t arrive for the exam too early. No electronic equipment in the exam room. Make sure your responses are easy to follow, especially in continuing answers or using extra pages.
