1st consultation of the Habitats Committee on the revised Reporting Format on (incl. Expert Group on Reporting)

Art 17 Checklist – first discussions with MS
Draft Guidelines discussed in the WP1 Subgroup meeting of October
List of threats and pressures modified

3. Next steps:
Draft Guidelines to be discussed with Expert Group on Reporting on 2.12.
+ presentation of “Range tool”
2nd consultation of the Habitats Committee on the revised Reporting Format – after Expert Group meeting
planning of delivery mechanism of Art 17 reporting started
approval of revised Reporting Format envisaged for spring 2011

4. 1st consultation on the revised Reporting Format:
13 MS commented (AT, DE, DK, EE, HU, IE, IT, NL, PL, PT, SE, SK, UK)
comments mainly about details, no big changes proposed
4 MS expressed difficulties to comment without guidelines
Document with all comments and proposed solutions distributed to Committee (see CIRCA)

5. Revision of the Guidelines
Work is on-going within WP1 Subgroup
1st discussion with Expert Group will take place on 2.12.
Habitats Committee will receive draft guidelines after next Expert Group meeting
Guidelines probably only to be finalized after reporting formats are approved (but will be available in final draft format)

6. Population units: discussed again in WP1 Subgroup in October
WP1 Subgroup proposes a compromise:
now 2 alternatives:
population size: individuals/agreed exceptions
population size: other units
recommendation to convert “other units” to individuals remains (but not mandatory)

7. Next: Revised Reporting Format to be submitted to the Expert Group on Reporting
comments from WP1 & Habitats Committee taken into account
all fields included to the format where data requested from MS (same fields as to be in the IT tool)
submitted together with the revised Guidelines
