2 Title Slide Include short description and picture of book.

3 Author Slide Information about author and picture of author.

4 Publication Slide Include the name of the publishing company and the date that the book was published.

5 Major Characters Names of major characters and descriptions of their qualities or traits and their role in the story (pictures of characters optional)

6 Minor Characters Names of Minor Characters and a short description of each one including their realtionship to major characters.

7 Static and Dynamic Characters
Static Characters – do not change much during the story – they are usually minor characters who’s purpose is to reveal change and growth in the major characters. Dynamic Characters – change and grow and learn things throughout the story – be sure to describe how the dynamic characters change.

8 Exposition Slide Background information – time, place, setting, key events that happened before the story takes place

9 Conflict Slide What is the major problem in the story that the characters are trying to deal with or solve? There could be more than one and it could be a personal problem, a problem between two people, or a problem between larger groups or people. Man vs Man Man vs Self Man vs Society Man vs Environment Man vs Technology Man vs Animal Man vs Woman Race vs Race

10 Rising Action Slide Describes events that lead up to the most significant events in the story. Can be problem starting events or inciting events or just what happens before a climax.

11 Climax Slide The most significant points in the plot where the tension is highest and readers are most engaged or excited about what is occuring. The point at which conflict really is expressed and events make a dramatic change.

12 Falling Action Slide What happens after the climax during the fallout? What are the results of the climax.

13 Resolution Slide What is the final outcome? Is the sitaution resolved or left unresolved? Are some quesitons left unanswered?

14 Denouement Slide When does the reader figure out what the important quesitons mean? What is the most revealing moment in the story when the reader/characters finally get the meaning or the point of the story?

15 Mood/Tone Slide What is the overall feeling or emtion that characterizes the story? Does the mood change and if so when and why? Is the final message of the story optimistic or pessmisitc or ambiguous?

16 Point of View Slide What is the point of view of the narration – 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person? What kind of narrator tells the story and why do you think the author uses the point of view he/she does?

17 Figurative Language Slide
What are some examples of figurative language in the story? Simile Metaphor Hyperbole Alliteration Personification Irony

18 Quote Slide What are some signficant and important quotes from the story and what do they mean or suggest about the theme or main message of the story?

19 Theme/Moral/Message What is a message or lesson that the average reader can learn from reading the book? How can readers apply the experiences in the book to their own lives?

20 Prediction Slide What do you think happens after the end of the story? Why do you believe your prediction might be correct or might make sense?

21 Recommendation Slide Would you recommend this book to your peers, why or why not? Be sure to include at least 3 reasons.
