Deciding whether to tell someone that their outfit does not suit them
Whether it is okay to laugh at a joke that is offensive

Listen – What are the points of views involved? What has led to this event?
Learn – Do you understand the context? Do you know the individuals involved?
Speak out – If appropriate, say something to the person or people in the wrong. If you are worried ask for help.

14. How did people step up and help out?
Women – stepped up to financially support their families, to work as nurses and in munitions factories
Commonwealth - estimated 4 million colonial soldiers, porters and labourers
Volunteers – to join the army before conscription was introduced
Rations
Children - Boy Scouts carried messages for the War Office. They learned to send messages with small flags. Scouts watched the skies for Zeppelin attacks and sounded their bugles to signal when an air raid was over.
Guides learned first aid so they could help with injuries. Guides in Scotland collected sphagnum moss, which was used to cover and treat war wounds.
