4. Organizational Structure
Delegation - the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person (normally from a manager to a subordinate) to carry out specific activities.
Span of control - The number of personnel that a supervisor is responsible for.
Chain of command – the line on which orders and decisions are passed down from top to bottom of the hierarchy.
Hierarchy - A hierarchy is a system of ranking and organising things or people.
Flat Organisation - an organisational structure with few or no levels of intervening management between staff and managers.
Tall Organisation - A tall organizational structure is characterized by many levels of management.
Matrix structure – self autonomous group structure often in departments. Combine to achieve the organisation’s goals
