2. Methods to remember:
Use factoring when possible – it’s usually faster.
If the equation includes RATIONAL expressions: multiply through by the LCD!
Remember the concept of substitution… If we let u = ___ and u2 = ___, it will be easier solve. (remember to back-substitute)

3. EX: Solve 1. 1 + 1 = 3 x x + 2 4 2. 3 – 5x-1 – 12x-2 = 0
= 3

3. x – 3√x + 2 = 0
4. x4 – 13x = 0
5. 3x2/3 – 4x1/3 – 4 = 0
6. (x – 3)2 + 5(x – 3) – 15 = 0
