Composition Central idea: sharply focused, narrowed by elaboration
Elaboration: details in sentences; illustrations, examples, reasons, and/or events within paragraphs Organization: Strong: careful logic and order, strong, sophisticated lead and closure, appropriate and fluid transitions Unity: all parts contribute to the dominant impression or idea of the paper; consistent point of view; no digressions

Written Expression Vocabulary: precise; chooses words carefully, avoiding vague or anemic words Information: precise and even information presentation Voice: the writer’s presence is strong and enhanced by word choice and information given Tone: the writer’s attitude is purposeful Rhythm: purposefully varied sentence structure; modifiers and subordination are effectively imbedded

Written Expression Use 11th grade words NOT: cuz, stuff a lot, lol, u, dumb Use words correctly, don’t throw a big word in there you don’t know how to use correctly
