1. EDU 322 Online Forensic Project
The goal of this project was to expand students’ knowledge of science by building on what they have already been learned.
We have used the practicality of online labs combined with the interest and application value of crime scene forensics.
We believe we have created a project that students will find intriguing , challenging and fun.

2. Lab #1: Insect and Crime Scene Analysis
In teams of three, students will assume the role of crime scene investigators.
Their goal is to find a homicide suspect by attending a virtual crime scene and completing on line labs.
This lab will grab the students attention and get them started.
They have to calculate P.M.I. post mortem interval but using the science of entomology.

3. Lab #2: Insulation Lab Police information leads them to here.
Students have to figure what material insulates the best.
They have to go to the next lab to find out why?

4. Lab #3: Major Bones in Body
These bones were found the basement of an abandoned house.
To find out what bone they are the students must go through the bone lab.

5. Lab #4: Blood Typing Lab After the students find that the bones
In the basement belong to the victim,
they find another clue in the house.
They will have to complete the blood lab to know the suspects blood type

6. Lab #5: Gel Electrophoresis DNA Matching
This the lab where the students find out who the suspect is...
...but will it lead to an arrest ?

7. Conclusion
We wanted students to be in immersed in a project that they could build.
It was important that they would find it intriguing enough to ask their own questions.
Therefore initiate their own learning.
If they have fun while they learn on their own it make a completely positive experience that may encourage them to do it again!
