After palpating the cricoid cartilage, the LT was aligned alongside the lateral side of the patient’s head and neck so that the distal balloon of the LT was placed just posterior to the cricoid cartilage. The path of LT was adjusted to pass via the mandible angle, and the anaesthesiologist marked the position of the upper incisor on the tube. The LT was then inserted until the marking point was placed on the upper incisor.
