The sky is still blue. Trees are still green. Wind still blows
The sky is still blue. Trees are still green. Wind still blows. Clouds are still white and fluffy. Earth is still beautiful. So what is the problem? What is the fuss about climate change and global warming? Well, after observing and making lots of measurements, using lots of NASA satellites and special instruments, scientists see some alarming changes.

Why is Earth getting warmer?
Here's one clue: Greenhouse gases (for example carbon dioxide) are gases that can trap heat. They let sunlight pass through the atmosphere, but they prevent the heat that the sunlight brings from leaving the atmosphere. Scientists have learned that, throughout Earth's history, temperature and CO2 levels in the air are closely tied.

Climate change is happening, it is caused in large part by human activity, and it will have many serious and potentially damaging effects in the decades ahead. Five parts of the world where global warming could have dramatic consequences for the environment. - The amazon forest - The Sahara desert - Greenland - The north Atlantic - The Tibetan plateau
5
Forests absorb huge amounts of carbon dioxide from the air, and release oxygen back into it. The Amazon rainforest is so large and efficient at doing this that it is often called ‘the lungs of the Earth’. With global warming will come a drop in amazonian rainfall, leading to the gradual death of the forest and subsequent collapse of the myriad ecosystems it supports. Warmer and drier environment could convert the Amazon rainforest into a type of dry savanna.
6
The sahara desert Will climate change turn the Sahara Desert into a green paradise? This seeming may become a reality. Global warming has exactly the opposite effect on the Sahara. But it is not a positive message. - Saharan dust feeds Amazon’s plants. Specifically, phosphorus and other nutrients, kicked up by the wind and spread half a world away. - The Sahara desert protects the East Coast of the United States from hurricanes.

Greenland is the largest island in the world
Greenland is the largest island in the world. Its ice sheet blankets almost 2 million square km. If all of the ice melted, global sea level would increase by up to seven metres. And this is not the only danger. Arctic tundra is a storehouse for decaying vegetation that has been buried for thousand of years. If the permafrost melts, carbon and methane stored in this vegetation will be released and will cause a further acceleration in the increase of temperatures. greenland

The North Atlantic Global warming is slowing Atlantic Ocean circulation. Some scientists are concerned that rainfall in the North Atlantic and melting glaciers will send cold water into the current and disrupt the Gulf Stream's flow. There is a possibility that without the warmth delivered by the Gulf Stream, Northern Europe could enter a new ice age.
9
The tibetan plateau The Tibetan Plateau contains the world's third-largest store of ice. It is home to the largest store of freshwater outside of the North and South Poles, feeding water into Asia’s major rivers which supply water to over a million people. Permanently buried under snow and ice, the region acts as a giant mirror, reflecting the sun's rays back into space. Once when ice vanish, water supplies in those regions will be in peril.
