New Mexico Cooperative Extension Service Large Animal Emergency Rescue Awareness Level When: May 11, am to 3pm Lunch Included Where: “Juan I. Gonzales Memorial” Taos Agriculture Center 200 Chamisa Rd. Taos NM Department of Homeland Security by May 5, 2019 Emergencies involving large animals are exceptionally dangerous to both humans and animals involved. First responders are often unfamiliar with handling large animals and require specialized training in animal behavior, best handling practices and rescue equipment. Participants will get real world experience handling large animals. They will master the practical application of large animal rescue equipment such as slings, rescue harnesses, glides, and learn how to build simple enclosure facilities.
