PROJECT VISHRAM is an Aggregator of Service Providers for the Elderly accessed through Relationship Managers (RMs)
Innovation - The concept of providing multiple services by a single Point of Contact for Elders with Relationship Managers (RMs) is used in ‘Project Vishram’. Generally the services provided by various service providers are specific services like - medical care or grocery delivery etc. In Vishram the same RM facilitates different services. This model would integrate and empower persons with disability, housewives, retired service personal, etc. to be RMs all working from home.
RMs are needed since the Elderly may not be familiar with Smartphones or Apps. RMs understands the need and meets it through Service Providers (SPs) with Apps/Tel Nos.

2. Jal Vayu Vihar, Bangalore is a Colony with large numbers of retired persons. An Elderly Air Marshal is staying all by himself. He wishes to stay independently and does not want to move to an Old age home or go and stay with his children. His children are concerned and away from Bangalore.
He is a diabetic and heart patient but does not wish to go to a Doctor or Hospital. He finds it difficult to manage his own affairs.
Some of his friends and contacts check with him for his requirements or he rings them to meet his needs.
One day he fell down in his house. When somebody rang the door bell, he kept saying that he was coming. He did not open the door. When somebody jumped across the neighbor’s balcony, he was found lying on the floor bleeding.
Monitoring of the Elder on a regular basis could meet most of the routine requirements and possibly prevent emergency situations.

3. What is it?
Project Vishram is a Cost Effective Assisted Living option. Not for Emergency Services & Not a substitute for Old Age Homes / Geriatric Wards of Hospitals. Multiple RMs of the locality could be reached with GPS (like Uber/Ola) by a touch of the screen by the Elder or Care Giver. Any of the RMs could attend to the call of the Elder & meet the need linking to any of the multiple Service Providers (SPs) through the Vishram App.
Examples of Services rendered: Some of the Elders have been rushed to the Hospital, some forms submitted, some Life Certificate for pensioners, IT Return being prepared and submitted, etc. Emergency Services are not being offered though RMs would provide assistance since we do not have any control of critical components like Ambulances and Drs on Call.

4. Why now? Earlier Elders had support of a joint family.
With nuclear families, options are limited - move to Old Age homes or stay with the children causing loss of independence and conflict situations.
Project Vishram is an option where the Elder could stay in own homes and familiar surroundings with assistance from Relationship Managers (RMs) working from home.
They would remain integrated in society and maintain their independence and dignity.

6. Market Size
The number of Elderly is growing globally and limited availability of affordable quality Old Age homes. The trend is for people to move to urban areas due to better infrastructure.
The longevity of the aging population require cost effective options using the existing infrastructure.
With the Elderly population moving upwards of 20 to 30 %, the market is huge.
The Assisted Living option therefore becomes a necessity to meet the needs of the aging population.

7. HOW IT WORKS?
Project Vishram is an App for Relationship Managers (RMs) & an Aggregator of Apps and Tele Nos of Service Providers.
EUs need to touch the Vishram icon on the phone screen. Multiple RMs of the locality come to know of a need (like Uber/Ola). Any of the RMs
working from home can choose to attend.
The RM give a ring to EU and understands the
Need. The RM contacts the appropriate App or
Tele No of Service Providers (SPs), & monitor till the Need is met.
The App for RM would be ‘Lean’ and supported by a database
maintained on a backend site with all the records & transactions.
Team - Stakeholders – Clients, RMs & Service Providers. There is no compulsion for RMs to take the call. So also a provision will be available to look for missed calls from EUs when RMs/Admin are available.

8. Competitors are limited and segmented mostly for Health Care
Competitors are limited and segmented mostly for Health Care. For routine needs Helplines like Just Dial results in a flood of service providers calling the customers. It is a difficult to select the right service provider. 
The competitive advantages for Project Vishram is that any of the multiple Relationship Managers (RMs) working from home are accessed by the Elders/Caregivers by a touch on the screen. Minimum staff & overheads.
RMs of the locality could choose the appropriate Service (Medical / Non Medical) Provider through Apps or Tel Nos.
It is a concierge service with a human touch.

At launch there would be a ‘Free Trial’ to sell the concept.
The target market are the children and family members of the Elderly reached through Social Media and Digital Marketing & who would be happy to have the services on payment.
It could also work as a CSR Model for Companies to adopt.

10. Many of us are already meeting the needs of the Elderly as family members, neighbors, friends, etc. without remuneration. Vishram provides the structure to reach larger numbers.
We would require Funding for
1) Developing a ‘Lean’ App for Relationship Managers (RMs) and hosting the back end Website – Rs 6 Lakhs
2) Initial Honorarium payable to RMs to get trained and work as RMs. - Rs 50,000
3) Promotional expenditures to Test the model in a local area of 2 km radius – Rs 1 Lakh for 12 months.
4) Digital Marketing to expand into more areas after 12 months of trial. Rs 2.5 Lakhs
A total of Rs 10 Lakhs would be sufficient to Launch and Test the project.
