ACCESS Building parks in communities through grants Bring residents to natural areas through partnerships Theme for Proposition 68 is ACCESS. There are 9 million Californians that DO NOT have access to parks or open space within one-half mile of their residence. Our programs create 2 types of access Since 1965, over 7,400 parks statewide have been built by OGALS grants Role of our department includes partnerships as well as leadership with local agencies and non-profits

2 $650 Million for Park Access
parks.ca.gov/spp Round 3 of the Statewide Park Program will make available up to $254.9 million for new and renovated parks and open space within communities. Final Guide is being published participants in recent focus groups, review sessions, and hearings for local agencies. Application workshops schedule will be announced this month.

Starting February 19th – Highly interactive, page-by-page discussion with questions and answers for local agencies and non-profits 15 Workshops to be announced soon (featured here are recent review sessions for the draft guidelines).

5 Proposition 68 - Administered by OGALS
Approximately $3.2 billion not administered by the Office of Grants and Local Services OGALS will administer 5 Prop 68 programs totaling $900 million dollars Based on public comment, the Community Access Program was created – upto 5% taken from the Statewide park Program $13 Million to $32.5 Million) The rollout for the program guidelines is expected to occur sometime in spring 2019
