Stopped due to lack of resources

5. Task 4 - Verification of ensemble forecasts
Collaboration with WG5 and VERSUS for ensemble forecasting verification
tools for EPS verification are being implemented in VERSUS, support provided by WG7 for score definition (parallel session this afternoon)

6. Task 5 - Development of convection-permitting ensembles
Product development and evaluation at MCH
Verification of COSMO-LEPS, evaluation of COSMO-DE-EPS
Study towards a COSMO ensemble at 2.8 km over Italy
First tests on parameter and LBC perturbations
Tests for the LAM-EPS BC project to drive convection-permitting EPS
Coordinated within SRNWP ET-EPS
EPS will be run at T1279 for two 2-week periods, providing BCs for testing the impact on existing LAM-EPSs and higher resolution downscaling
Periods selection is on-going

7. Development of convection permitting ensembles
during last WG7 meeting (March 2012) it was decided to prepare a document providing a framework for coordinating convection-permitting ensemble in COSMO
A draft has been circulated within WG7 and will be finalised during this meeting. It addresses:
Future of COSMO-LEPS
Feasibility of a COSMO implementation at higher resolution
Plans of the COSMO members
Highlight common interests
Identify possibilities for cooperation (new PP on ensemble?)

8. KENDA/WG7 meeting
A common interest is the use of KENDA to provide IC perturbations to the ensembles -> need to enforce the link with KENDA
