Hypothesis We predict that the stem will carry the water up to the flower which will cause it to change to the color of the water.

Hypothesis: The vote The stem and leaves will change color.

Variables Independent Variable– The element that we changed:
The color of the water. Dependent Variable– The element that was changed by the different colors of water. The color of the roses.

Materials Water Clear cups White roses Food coloring

Procedure Pour 1 cup of water into each cup
Add 5 drops of food coloring to each cup Place the white rose into the cup Day 1

Conclusion As we suggested in our hypothesis, the majority of the class thought that the petals would change to the color of the water. We were correct.
