Biologic processes necessary for survival after alkylation damage are conserved and when compiled generate a cross-species functionome. Biologic processes necessary for survival after alkylation damage are conserved and when compiled generate a cross-species functionome. The conserved biologic processes with their corresponding genes were visualized using Cytoscape. Red nodes denote conserved biologic processes. The remaining nodes are alkylation-modulating proteins belonging to E. coli (dark blue), S. cerevisiae (light blue), and humans (light green). The edges connect specific biologic processes to each protein belonging to the processes. Many proteins are involved in more than one biologic process to affect alkylation exposure survival and therefore are connected to several biologic processes nodes. David Svilar et al.
