1 Using Museum Box as a Multimedia Assessment Tool
James Matamoros Berkshire Elementary

2 Objective Today we will explore Museum Box’s features, such as text, images, sounds, video, and hyperlinks in order to create an alternative assessment aligned with standards and curriculum which can be used in the classroom.

7 You can register yourself and your students on this screen.
Please create a username and password for yourself.

8 Back on the creator page, clicking on change box in the lower right corner will let you adjust your settings and the appearance of your box. *Create a box with 4 cubes and 1 layer*

9 Once you click on a cube you will see each side and will be able to add what you choose.
With the "front" side of the cube highlighted, click on the images button.

10 Here, you can upload your own pictures, or choose from a gallery of pictures and add them to your cube. Selecting an image allows you to preview it, and then either add it to your cube or your drawer.

13 The "text" button allows you to type text and add it to your cube
The "text" button allows you to type text and add it to your cube. You can also format your text, spell check, and give it a title. Make sure to save your text for future use!

14 Clicking on "Add to Drawer" lets me drag and drop multiple things.
Create a text box for each of your cubes and place it on an open side.

15 Under the "sounds" tab, you can either record your own sounds using a microphone, or upload MP3s that you already have.

16 Your Task.. Design a lesson/ task that would require your class to make a Museum Box Group/ Individual Project? Computer Access? Create a sample Museum Box to use as a model for your lesson Include as many of the components we discussed as possible, and explore the other features of the site
