Tootstars: Turn the Tide.
Our Journey So Far. Tootstars: Turn the Tide.
2
The Poster At the beginning of the Turn The Tide project, we created a poster showing our expressions of interest. We dot pointed some ideas down so we can narrow the options down so we could come up with a solution to pollution. Some of these ideas include: When we have recycling bins we could find rubbish and put the rubbish in the right bins not just outside, GRACE. Count and sort the rubbish that we find, JADE.
3
Call For Help After we had completed the poster, we called the shire for help on how we can reduce the bins in classrooms around the whole school! Then we ed a lady named Amy, and the next week she sent a long back full of great ideas that will definitely help our school environment! So a GINORMOUS thanks to her! Thanks Amy!
4
Searching For Bins After we had completed our poster, our team/group started to research bins to be placed around the school. After many weeks of searching, our team/group decided to stop searching for bins and merge with another team/group.
5
New Idea Finally, we came up with an AWESOME idea that will help our school environment! Our AWESOME idea was that we can paint RED and BLUE lines around the rim of the bin for Landfill and Recycling/Paper. We are also going to clean out all of the bins in the school and placing the painted ones inside. The materials we need to accomplish this are: Gloves Masks Hose/Tap Scrubber Masking Tape Paint (Red and Blue)

The Competition To Raise Money
We are going to raise money from our materials by starting a Jelly Bean Jar Competition! We are starting to make posters to display around the school. The guesses are 50c for 1 guess and $1 for 2 guesses (so 50c for a guess).
7
19/10/18 So far we have raised $21.00 Some people have been guessing twice and some less or maybe even MORE!
8
Cleaning The Bins A few people started to clean the bins and place masking tape on them for when we do get the red and blue paint!

Painting Bins Last week we started to paint the bins that Miss Perkins coated three weeks ago, we painted 7 red bins and 1 blue bin. On the 9th of November we painted bins again and we had 9 red bins and 8 blue bins and it got messy.
14
2nd Coat On The Bins On the 9/11/18 we painted a 2nd coat on the red and blue bins! Next week we will probably peel off the tape to reveal the finished product!
15
3rd Coat on The Bins On the 16/11/18 we painted a 3rd coat on the red and blue bins for all of the classrooms! This might be the week that we pull the tape off and reveal the finished product!
16
Pulling The Tape Off On the 16/11/18 we pulled off the tape from the red and blue bins and they look amazing! The lines are so precise and straight. We all can’t wait to see them displayed all around the school.
17
BINS! Finally, we have finished the bins and the look amazing! There is a RED & BLUE stripe around the middle of the bins and most of the classes are using the bins correctly!
