3 Background Enterprise solutions require data solutions that enable end to end connectivity. ERPs are a means to achieve data integration across business processes. But even in the ERP world there is a need for data exchange to allow for data to flow into the enterprise in a seamless manner. Pennant continues to work on data exchange in several ways to enable the integration of business functions supporting the Logistics Support data and baseline management in-service.

5 Logistics Product Data Improvements
Design & Build - GEIA-STC-0007 – Rev C Logistics Product Data Improvements Rev C of the 0007 Data Exchange standard includes a number of changes that will improve exchange functionality Streamlined the XSD to reduce XML files sizes Simplified the change file requirements in the XSD files by adding an “action” attribute to each entity in the XSD Added an extension capability to capture additional data as specified by trading partners Included a unit of measure (UM) element for each respective measurement element to accommodate international requirements Expanded the capture of RCM logic in the B entities to accommodate other RCM logic types such as MSG-3 Added new entities (XBB, XBX, and XBS) for capturing Breakdown Element Identifier information and associating that information with XB LCN/ALC instances Expanded the LCN Nomenclature to 42 characters.

Design & Build - GEIA-STC-0007 – Rev C Logistics Product Data Improvements Added an extension capability to capture additional data as specified by trading partners This change will allow the Canadian Provisioning data (defined iaw D /SF-000) to be added to the 0007 Rev C xml file - simplifying download/upload and change management Included a unit of measure (UM) element for each respective measurement element to accommodate international requirements Both 1388 and 0007 assume the use of U.S. Customary Units. This greatly restricts the use of the standard and may introduce errors OmegaPS added Units of Measure to key areas within the Canadian Provisioning Module some time ago to overcome this restriction

Design & Build - GEIA-STC-0007 – Rev C Logistics Product Data Improvements Expanded the capture of RCM logic in the B entities to accommodate other RCM logic types such as MSG-3 This change brings the standard in line with the RCMe module in OmegaPS Enabling both logic definition and logic exchange Added new entities (XBB, XBX, and XBS) for capturing Breakdown Element Identifier information and associating that information with XB LCN/ALC instances A key integration point enabling a way to accept material and structure data from engineering tools such as CAD, PLM and PDM This is very similar to the use of XB Control in OmegaPS Expanded the LCN Nomenclature to 42 characters. This will reduce the potential truncation of incoming data

8 P21 File – Material Data from Engineering
Design & Build ISO P21 (STEP) P21 File – Material Data from Engineering This is a data exchange file format widely used to enable the transfer of 3D objects Due to its ASCII structure a P21 file is easy to read with typically one instance per line. P21 files are presented using an EXPRESS schema There is an equivalent P21 XML (designated P28 file type) Pennant is researching using the P21/P28 file types to populate the material catalogue and material structure Research includes data transfer to the XB control table which holds structure data without EIAC references.

10 Support Baseline - LPD/LSA
LORA - AS1390 LORA, as part of the Logistics Support Analysis process, interfacing in the following ways Maintenance Planning. LORA identifies the maintenance level and logistic support costs associated with an unscheduled maintenance task and influences maintenance planning in producing an effective support solution. Reliability. The LORA is used to analyze reliability critical items to determine whether they are maintenance significant. MTA. The LORA, with consideration to cost and availability implication of the maintenance level and locations, will support an MTA directly linked to the system's reliability and maintainability characteristics. OmegaPS Anayzer is completely compliant with the requirements of AS1390

Support Baseline - LPD/LSA Sparing/ Life Cycle Costing - TPD Additional standards are required to provide a framework for other key processes like Sparing and Life Cycle Costing Pennant continues to work with both DND and SAE to move forward in these areas

12 TA-STD-017 and Naval Supportability Engineering Manual (NSEM)
Support Baseline - LPD/LSA TA-STD-017 and Naval Supportability Engineering Manual (NSEM) TA-STD-017 defines the LPD processes resulting in the data exchanged using GEIA-STD-0007 TA-STD-017 will be reviewed by SAE in the next 12 to 18 months to update as required The NSEM is a DGMEPM guidance document for TA-STD-017. It is the Canadian equivalent of MIL-HDBK-502A The NSEM guidance will formalize LPD procedures within DGMEPM It will include guidance for data selection in accordance with the Product Support Data Element Requirement (PSDER) tool and procedure
