Contains two dimensions: Social Impact: the visibility or prominence of a youth’s social behavior Social Preference: the prominence of a favorable evaluation

Characteristics Isolated/Neglected Followers or wallflowers
Amiable/Acceptable Normal or average Rejected Aggressive, disruptive, at risk for doing poorly in school

High leadership skills, but not always positive Has lots of friends and enemies Very intelligent Popular Intelligent, attractive and leaders

Stability of Peer Status Groups
Rejected Most stable group of them all. Least likely to change status groups, even later in life Neglected Least stable group of all groups Can usually move up in status groups
