2. 1.Create a log pile to give insects a place to hide – its creating habitat for beetles and worms – the stuff that dreams are made of for hedgehogs. Bit like pizza to go for us!

3. 2. Leave a little patch of your garden to grow wild. Dandelion roots are great for worms, you can eat the leaves in salads and they make great ground cover for beetles and the bees love the flowers.

4. 3. Dont use chemicals. Hedgehogs are suffering the same plight as bees by ingesting pesticides and neonicitinoids through weed killers and slug pellets. Look for natural alternatives to alleviate your weed and slug problems.

5. 4. Cut a small hole in the bottom of your fence to allow hedgehogs access to a route through all the gardens in your street. Ask your neighbours to do the same!
