3 What is ISCWSA? The “Industry Steering Committee on Wellbore Survey Accuracy” aka SPE WPTS – Wellbore Positioning Technical Section Our Primary aim* is: Produce and maintain standards relating to wellbore survey accuracy Raise awareness & understanding of wellbore survey accuracy Set terminology and accuracy specification standards Establish a standard framework for the modelling and validation of tool performance *Blatantly plagiarized from the ISCWSA Mission

4 Who Can Join? Anyone with an interest in wellbore positioning issues, technologies, data is welcome to attend ISCWSA meetings and yes… Reservoir Engineers Geologists Geodetic specialists Geomagnetic specialists Non-SPE members Our members include : Well Planners Coordinators Field Hands Software Developers Downhole Tool Manufacturers Drilling Engineers Technology Companies People with General Interest in Survey Accuracy

5 Meetings General Meetings
Held twice a year – generally once in Europe and once in the US Fall meeting has to be held in conjunction with SPE ATCE Subcommittee Meetings Held in advance of the General Meetings (generally the day(s) before) Current subcommittees include: Error Model Management Collision Avoidance Operator’s Wellbore Survey Group Education Survey QA/QC (revived) Well Intercept (retired) QA/QC (retired)
