In the last 10 years, several measles outbreaks have occurred across European countries. The year of 2016 recorded the lowest number of measles cases reported, with a total of 5,198 cases in 34 countries. Nevertheless, measles transmission continues to spread in 2017, resulting in a total of 7,882 measles cases reported in 38 countries as of July 6, 2017.
