2. DiRAC Technical application overview
The aim:
To assess the overall technical requirements of the project
Does the applicant have the appropriate knowledge to use the system effectively?
Are any of the DiRAC systems appropriate for the project?
Are the requested resources reasonable?
Is the chosen DiRAC system appropriate?
Does the applicant appreciate the technical configuration of the system?
To help the applicant in the process
The process can be interactive and the assessor might contact the applicant for clarification.
The assessor might advise the applicant to get a seedcorn allocation to gain some scaling or profiling information.
For very new HPC users: to help them understand how their code might be run on the system.
To identify if the applicant requires RSE support to make optimal use of the system.
For applicants to gain access, if their applications are suitable and their research would greatly benefit from the use of the DiRAC system.
 The applicant has to help the process to make the best possible recommendation!

3. Technical Assessment – Attached to the Technical Application Form
Do the applicants have the technical expertise required for the proposed work?
Is the software specified technically suitable for DiRAC?
Has evidence of scaling and efficiency been provided that shows speedup to required job size for the software specified?
Does the applicant understand the data flow of their applications and have potential bottlenecks been considered?
Is the compute time requested reasonable and has the job breakdown been technically justified?
Are the storage requests reasonable?

Requirement for the technical capabilities of DiRAC
Would a different computing resource be more appropriate?
The score will be out of 10!
