Nuclei are more packed during the proliferative and pre-receptive phase than later in the cycle (compare A + B with C + D). Note, only one fourth of a single 0.3 μm–thick optical section of ≥40 in each Z-stack is shown, and 10 such stacks were used to arrive at the NCS prevalence numbers in Figure 2. The endometrial biopsy numbers (bottom right of lower panels) correspond to those in Figure 2.
