1 Timing the window of implantation by nucleolar channel system prevalence matches the accuracy of the endometrial receptivity array  Edward J. Nejat, M.D., M.B.A., Maria Ruiz-Alonso, M.Sc., Carlos Simón, M.D., Ph.D., U. Thomas Meier, Ph.D.  Fertility and Sterility  Volume 102, Issue 5, Pages (November 2014) DOI: /j.fertnstert Copyright © 2014 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Terms and Conditions

2 Figure 1 Examples of immunostaining of a subset of nucleoporins in endometrial specimens from each cycle phase (top panels) and corresponding nuclear DNA staining (bottom panels): (A) proliferative; (B) pre-receptive; (C) receptive; and (D) post-receptive phase. The bright nuclear spots/rings of NCSs are only visible in receptive phase nuclei (C, arrows). Nuclei are more packed during the proliferative and pre-receptive phase than later in the cycle (compare A + B with C + D). Note, only one fourth of a single 0.3 μm–thick optical section of ≥40 in each Z-stack is shown, and 10 such stacks were used to arrive at the NCS prevalence numbers in Figure 2. The endometrial biopsy numbers (bottom right of lower panels) correspond to those in Figure 2. 3 Figure 2 The NCS prevalence in 49 endometrial biopsies dated according to LH peak and ERA. Histogram of NCS prevalence (y-axis) in all 49 biopsies (x-axis) arranged by cycle phase determined according to LH surge. The biopsy day is indicated for each phase, and the specimens that deviate are listed in parentheses. NCS prevalence dating disagreed with LH dating in 4 samples (underlined). ERA dating disagreed with that of LH in 3 samples (asterisks). Fertility and Sterility  , DOI: ( /j.fertnstert ) Copyright © 2014 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Terms and Conditions
