- Education and communication -time consuming, direction may not be clear Collaboration or Participation –time consuming/ownership/quality of decision Intervention- change agent retains control/ controlled process / incremental Direction-use of authority- clarity & speed- risk is lack of acceptance & ill-conceived strategy, transformational change Coercion-forced learning-explicit use of power-rapid transformation-least successful without crisis Change Agent Roles – is an individual. or group that affects strategic change in organizations the creator of change or strategy Strategic leaders CEO –legal –bureaucratic-transactional or transformational –visionary Middle manager – theory Z(OUCHI) –- consensus decision making –bridge-Mound model Outsiders –new CEO - consultants New concept is of knowledge worker
