A Novel Temperature-Controlled RF Ablation Catheter Shown on the left is the tip of catheter with the microelectrodes and 6 thermocouples. This allows the capacity for very high power–short duration (90 W, 4 s) lesions. As shown on the right, the procedural outcomes in the first-in-human QDOT-FAST study (Clinical Study for Safety and Acute Performance Evaluation of the THERMOCOOL SMARTTOUCH SF-5D System Used With Fast Ablation Mode in Treatment of Patients With Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation) are substantially improved over other previous multicenter studies.
