Promote social and friendship skills through room sharing and group work activities Create a lasting memory of primary school before transition to secondary school Educational experiences

Isle of Wight Experience booking and support Coach and driver for the week Wight Link ferry crossing Sole occupancy of hotel Entrance to activities throughout the week

6 FORMS TO RETURN TO SCHOOL
The OV7 form which went out in packs last week which detail: Medical requirements Allergies/Food allergies Up to date contact details Sleep issues/sleepwalking/ bedwetting/ menstruation etc

7 ITINERARY

8 Monday 8.00 arrive at school 8.30 coach departure. 11.30 Lunch on Southsea Common 12:00 D-Day Museum Southsea 3.00 Travel by Wightlink Ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne 5.00 Arrive at B&B – rooms allocated / fire procedures 6.30 Evening meal Evening: Walk down Shanklin Chine and along seafront back to B&B

9 Tuesday 10.00 Whippingham Church Visit followed by Osborne House and lunch in the grounds 2.00 Robin Hill Country Park, Arreton Return to B&B for evening meal Evening: Park Games

10 Wednesday 10.30 Amazon World Lunch on site Afternoon at Alum Bay with a glass demonstration at 2.00 Visit to the SAND SHOP 5.00 Return to B&B for evening meal Evening: Beach Sandcastle competition

11 Thursday 10.00 Haven Falconry at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway with Flying Display followed by lunch on site. Carisbrooke Castle Return to hotel for evening meal Game Night in B&B

12 Friday Prepare for departure 10.00 am Depart B&B Free Time for shopping/ beach/ local area 12.00 Wight Link Ferry return inward journey Lunch on board Arrive at school subject to traffic( Look out for school text)

13 Bedtimes Children usually go to their rooms between 9.00 to 9.30 Lights out at They will be excited but be more tired as the week goes on

14 Rooms Children are in 4 rooms 1 x4 1x7 2x8
They have all chosen 2 people they would like to share with. I have guaranteed they will have one of their choices Room allocation when we arrive at the B&B

15 Hats Mrs Barker is organising
The only “Uniform” the children will wear to aid staff with keeping the children safe as they can be easily seen and differentiated from other school parties Emergency wrist bands- parents can organise if they wish

16 Clothing Old clothing Not jeans as they are heavy and stay wet if weather isn’t good Not strappy or cropped tops or very short shorts Shoes for walking and trainers fine. One old pair for beach that can get wet. Waterproof and layers are a must!

17 Essentials YOUR CHILD MUST HAVE THEIR OWN NAMED SUNCREAM Hat Biscuits
Water bottle Little teddy Book/ small puzzle book for on coach Please look at the suggested kit list

18 Communication Emergencies go via the school office who will contact us
We have all parental contact numbers in case of emergencies No MOBILE PHONES! School is looking into a twitter account or look out for the school text/ daily/ school board by reception

19 Medicines Can come into school the Friday before we go
Named clearly in a bag or small box Dosage must be clear. How much and how often. Spoons etc should be provided Ensure all medicines are full and in date We take paracetamol for headaches etc if you wish/ do not wish your child to have this please sign the forms on the way out.

20 Pocket Money Bring a wallet
Suggested amount is £3 per day in separate coin bags or envelopes. No more than £5 per day There will be opportunities to buy ice creams, small pencils, postcards etc Mrs Simons will collect money and give out daily

21 Behaviour We expect a lot of the children in terms of behaviour
As at school, they will be expected to be sensible, polite and role models for other children. Usual school rules and sanctions apply This is particularly important in the B&B which is someone’s home and should be treated as such Please remind children of these expectations. Instances of bad behaviour could result in you needing to collect your child! (I have never had to do this in 24 years)
