Reproducibility and Changes in Vena Caval Blood Flow by Using Four-dimensional Flow MRI in Pulmonary Emphysema and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: The MESA Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Substudy Four-dimensional (4D) flow MRI helps to provide a comprehensive assessment of right heart hemodynamics with good-to-excellent reproducibility in healthy participants and participants with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and emphysema. Right heart 4D flow MRI allows for the detection of differences in blood flow dynamics in participants with COPD and in control populations. Emphysema was associated with elevated right heart regurgitant flow, potentially related to higher pulmonary vascular resistance. Rahman O et al. Published Online: July 23, 2019
