1
Inter-discipline Integration Implications of sustained Development of Architectural Education Presented by Tsung Juang (TJ) Wang Department of Architecture National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan A perspective on the evolution of modern education
2
Agenda Needs of the study Primary objectives of the study Issues around architectural education Sustained Education Development of Architecture
3
Core Value sustained development education + Sustained development of City & Architecture = Sustained Education Development of Architecture
4
Needs of the Study…. Gaps between real world The rise of cross disciplines Great emphasis on conformity Department-based curricular stagnancy Demanding by exploring subjects of interest Curricular planning far behind social transition Sustained education is a learning education of integrated disciplines
5
Primary Objectives of the Study Coping with the rapid transition in the social and economic structures Compromising those requirements of professional capabilities Providing the combined course of professional capabilities Developing the criteria for the examination Comes up with the best green architecture settler Capable of carrying out the sustained development of the city and architecture.
6
Issues around architectural education Bridging the gap between open education Curriculum and Current School Curriculum; Lack of Measurement of Study Performance; The involvement degree of sustained development concepts; Objectives of the sustained development education Objectives of the sustained development of architecture
7
Objectives of the sustained development education Inter-discipline integration learning; Life Learning; Creating Partnership; Accommodating viewpoints of diversified cultures Reinforced teaching and learning methodology
8
Sustained development of City & Architecture City & Architecture vs Society & Economy; City & Architecture vs Ecology & Environment;
9
Sustained development of City & Architecture Ecological architecture =Sustained architecture
10
Objectives of Sustained Education Development of Architecture-1 To inject the crisis awareness of the sustained development into the students for the incubation of citizens with environmental awareness To have the Equity, Economic efficiency and Ecological integrity of the contents of the sustained development as the objectives for the development of the sustained education of the architecture for promoting a balanced development of social, economic, ecological and environments. To equip the students with knowledge, techniques and design basics involving all the aspects of the sustained architecture to maintain constant operation of the green architecture. To develop the students the basic capabilities of the professionalism in all the disciplines of the sustained architecture so to effectively follow through the design and hands-on of the sustained architecture.
11
Objectives of Sustained Education Development of Architecture-2 To have the sustained architecture with ecological economy value as the objective for protecting the ecological environment and the balanced economic development in pursuing the ultimate goal of the welfare for the human society. To develop inter-discipline integrated learning curriculum complying with the sustained development for the students to be equipped with the proficiency to solve many inter-disciplinary issues of architecture environment. To build up the vision of diversified sustained development, and construct the sustained architecture for the regional culture of the society. To develop integral life learning system for providing the general public opportunities in the life learning of knowledge.
12
Objectives of Sustained Education Development of Architecture-3 To have architecture up cooperative partnership. To improve teaching and learning methodologies the sustained development with the student as the core to address the experience, cooperative learning and the general review of all the fields and systems of the sustained development.
13
Conclusion Education should involves the overall thinking process of cross and comprehensive engineering of multiple sciences, disciplines and works. The integrated design of ecological system Industrial coupling and technology innovation Creation of assessment indices
