March 9, 1935 Hitler announced the creation of a new air force A week later he began a military draft that expanded army from 100,000 to 550,000 Both violated the Treaty of Versailles!

Rhineland 1936 The Treaty of Versailles made this a demilitarized zone. Hitler thought Western states would not use force to maintain the Treaty… He was Right!
